I just saw a darling quiet book sock matching page. Check it out at Imagine our Life HERE. The sock matching isn’t the only cute one on there, she has a whole bunch of adorable pages. I am in another quiet book exchange. I don’t know how I am going to find time to do this. Yikes.

Half Square Triangle Hack
Video
This is a little trick I learned from my Quilt Guild ladies. You can make a half-square triangle without having to mark the line down the center of the top square. I made a video with a little help from my very talented mad scientist husband.
Finished Friday + WIP
I think I may not have posted about this quilt at all, because I only had time to sew or blog, and sewing won! My cousin picked these fabrics and mailed them to me, and I did the labor as a gift for her and her baby, due next month. I am proud that I finished this so far before the due date.
The pattern is “Off Track” by Allison at Cluck Cluck Sew. I received “Seville” for Christmas this year, though my husband forgot to give it to me under the tree. We found it in his sock drawer sometime in January, when I got out a stack of new fabric an needed something to do with it. That was when I remembered having seen the telltale envelope in early December and asked him whatever happened to it.
I love the colors my cousin chose. I think the fabric line is “Taza.” I wouldn’t normally have picked this palette, but I am really happy with it, and it has inspired me to think outside of my normal color box more often.
Seville is my current Work in Progress:

I have a couple of possible hacks for this pattern, but I am not sure if they are improvements or not, so I’ll wait to see how it progresses to post about it.
Quick Project: Camera Strap Cover
I have wanted a camera strap cover for a long time, but I just never got around to making one. I started a large quilt top from a pattern I got for Christmas and needed something that finished Quick to make me feel good. This probably took less than half an hour, and I love the way it personalizes my camera strap.

Quiet Book Cover and Binding (Updated with more Pictures)
*Update: I have also helped a friend bind hers now, and you can see an easier version of completing and binding the exchanged pages HERE now.
Here is my cover. It is a little big for the pages, but I’m still happy with it. My kids begged me to play with this, but I only let them play with it on Sundays, so it won’t get worn out too fast.
If you ever want some practice binding and doing mitered corners, just decide to bind every page of a quiet book with your binding scraps. While it was a lot of extra work, I loved the way these page edges turned out.
I got the grommets and loose leaf rings at Amazon (click the link to go to a page of them). The grommets are half inch, though you could easily go smaller, and the book rings are 2″, which seemed large to me at first, but with the thickness of bound pages, it is a great size.
One word of warning: if the kids get too excited, it’s not actually that Quiet of a Book. I was shushing them quite a bit during church when they were playing with it because they both wanted it to themselves.
